A beautiful new Calla Lily hybrid that is as colorful and exotic as tropical fish. The blooms resemble cup-shaped, upright trumpets that add warm, clear hues to the summer garden. Flame has large 2 1/2-4" blooms atop 14-22" stems. Blooms open yellow with a red edge and mature to a glowing flame red. Low growing dark green with white spotted foliage. Feel the heat! Unmatched for sheer radiance. They are excellent in patio pots and planters. They prefer rich garden soil in full sun or partial shade. We have found that they do best at our nursery with morning sun and afternoon shade rather than full sun, or filtered sunlight. Also, these are only supposed to grow in zone 9-11, but we have had them in the ground here at our nursery in middle Tn (zone 6b) for several years with great success.
The elegant shape of the blooms make them an excellent cut flower choice. The beautiful yellow and red coloring, combined with the nice spotted dark green foliage, create a stunning visual display in the summer garden.
