Calla Lily Mix: 100+ Easy-to-Grow Seeds for Outdoor & Indoor Planting
Category: calla lily bulbs
Growing calla lilies from seed requires a bit of effort and patience. It can take up to three years for a calla lily grown from seed to bloom. To successfully grow calla lily seeds, they must be pre-germinated. Begin by spreading the seeds out on a damp paper towel and covering them. Place the paper towel in a cool location, such as a basement or cellar, and check the seeds for growth after a few days. Discard any seeds that show no signs of life. Next, fill a well-draining pot with a high-quality soilless medium and plant the germinated seeds, placing two seeds per pot just below the soil surface. Keep the soil moist and watch for growth. After a week, remove any seeds that have not sprouted. Over the next couple of weeks, observe the plants and remove the weaker shoot from each pot, allowing the stronger one to thrive. Once the calla lily has grown for a while, it can be transplanted into a larger pot or moved outdoors. Water the transplanted calla lily regularly until it becomes established.
