Growing calla lilies from seed requires a bit of effort and patience. It can take up to three years for a calla lily grown from seed to bloom. To successfully grow calla lily seeds, they must be pre-germinated. Begin by spreading the seeds out on a damp paper towel and covering them. Place the paper towel in a cool location, such as a basement or cellar, and check the seeds for growth after a few days. Discard any seeds that show no signs of life.
